SPC Eric U. Ramirez, 31, of San Diego, CA, died Feb. 12, 2004, in Abu Gireb, Iraq, when he was attacked by small arms fire, a rocket propelled grenade, and an improvised explosive device. Ramirez was assigned to the 670th Military Police Company, California Army National Guard, National City, CA.

Eric was married to Tracy Ramirez, who currently resides in Manitowish Waters, WI with their son.

MAJ Christopher J. Splinter, 43, of Platteville, WI, died Dec. 24, 2003, when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device near Samarra, Iraq. Splinter was assigned to the 5th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade, based in Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

1LT Jeremy L. Wolfe, 27, of Menomonie, WI, was killed on Nov. 15, 2003, when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq. Wolfe was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY.

Lieutenant Wolfe was posthumously promoted to 1st Lieutenant.
