Carillon Tower

Dedicated to the Veterans of All Wars their wives, widows and mothers on June 28, 1953. Members and employees of the Grand Army Home conducted a fundraising campaign for the construction of the memorial monument.

Notable Burials

First Interment

Isaac Baker - Private, U.S. Army, Civil War

The first burial at CWVMC was Isaac Baker who served as a Private in Company F of the Fifth Wisconsin Infantry during the Civil War. Private Baker was buried June 17, 1888.

Medal of Honor Recipient

Theodore W. Goldin - Private, U.S. Cavalry, Indian Wars

Theodore Goldin was born on July 25th, 1856 and died on February 15th, 1935. He enlisted on April 8th, 1876 and served in Troop G, 7th U.S. Cavalry from April 8, 1876 to November 13, 1877. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for volunteering to make a dash under enemy fire to fill canteens with water for members of the Troop. Further information can be obtained online through the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

Brownie - K-9 Corps, U.S. Army, WWII

Brownie entered military service on May 29, 1943. He served honorably in the K-9 Corps. Injured in the eye he was discharged from war service on October 13,1944. He died on May 18th, 1949 after many years living with the veterans community in King, WI. He was buried with military honors and his grave marker was provided by the King, WI American Legion Post.
